MIRACLE IN THE SNOW

Remembering the 1991 TC Canadian National Choir
The Fighting 54th, 20 years later.
This web ttribute has taken a huge amount of my free time for weeks. It is not so much a tribute
to the men that overcame through this ordeal and the miracles that followed, but it is a tribute
to the God of all faithfulness who showed Himself mighty on our behalf.

On October 21, 1991 we left Edmonton for Kelowna. With a 10 hour drive through the Rockies, we woke to beautiful sunny day that promised a breathtaking scenic journey. All was fine until we drove into a mountain ice storm followed by blinding snow.
Miracle In the Rockies

We are writing from Africa, excited about the ministry in Swaziland. We appreciate your prayers over this next week as we partner with Kevin Ward and the Teen Challenge Centers for outreach, and TC Spiritual Impact.

This special Entercession report commemorates the continuing miracles of that national team. So many of these men are still actively engaged in the battle, winning souls, and walking in God's power.

When we prayed for travel mercies that morning, we had no idea the peril or miracles ahead. (click for more)

BUS ACCIDENT Teen Challenge Swaziland continues to be at the cutting edge, not only in their ministry to those being set free from life-controlling problems with drugs and alcohol, but also in ministering to marginalized, abused women, and AIDS affected and infected children. Their track record of success is amazing, no, ... miraculous! God is good! (schedule below)
Crossing the Obed Summit, elevation over one mile, tragedy reached out its ugly arm to detour the destiny of this dynamic team of Teen Challenge ministers, musicians and singers. as the bus spun out of control, went over an embankment, flipping and landing on the roof.

CathysCorner The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and they are SAFE!
Proverbs 18:10

As we were heading down the highway, that song kept running through my mind. We had just learned that chorus in a service 2 days before and it was stuck in my head. We had already been “on the road” with the Canadian Teen Challenge Choir for over a month and we had a long travel day ahead of us. Our clear day gradually turned to rain, then ice and snow followed as we climbed the mountainous roads of the Canadian Rockies. The snow was accumulating. Now we had lived in Canada for almost 15 months by now, so traveling in the snow was nothing new. Bern and I talked abut pulling off the road to get rooms as it got worse, but we saw no places to stop because we were in the middle of nowhere.

As the snow got worse I continued to pray . Then I gave the kids some Doritos for a snack. They had no idea of the danger, they just loved the snow. About a half an hour before the accident, I felt an impression to move my hand from the bus’s window ledge, where I usually rested it. No big deal.. . continued.

I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. (2Tim 1:12)

If we made a list of the many problems that we've faced over 35 years of traveling ministry with

Bern

Teen Challenge Choir, some might ask, "Is there hidden sin in your life?" Bus accidents, robberies, assaults, problems on the road ?? you really must have missed it a lot.

We often joked and reflected on the brother who prayed for "traveling mercies" that morning of Oct 21 when we left Edmonton, Alberta.
"Who prayed for this!?"
The fact that we survived the bus accident was evidence of God's traveling mercies. Although we do not pray for traveling mercies anymore, we pray for traveling blessings. Problems are part of real life.(continued)

PRAYING HANDS

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing they shall ask, it shall be done for them by my Father in heaven.
Mat 18:19

You are also joining in helping us through your prayers, so that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the favor bestowed on us through the prayers of many.
2Co 1:11
1) We have a busy schedule in Swaziland.
We will begin in Bulembu today and Saturday. We have two services at Potters Wheel on Sunday. We'll be shooting video ministering at the homes on Monday.
Pray as we may have an opportunity to pray for King Mswati III tommorow as he goes into Nquala.
We will be hold a Spiritual Impact and emphasis for Teen Challenge staff and students at Emafini on Tuesday and Wednesday morning with video and photographic work being done in the afternoon.
Cathy and I will return to Bulembu on Thursday, as Mariah joins nurse Jane and community outreach teams providing medical care, prayer, and ministry to impoverished communities
2) We ask for your prayers on behalf of Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani, an Iranian pastor on the brink of execution for his Christian faith. In June of this year, the Supreme Court of Iran issued a ruling which required the lower courts to re-examine Pastor Yousef's case according to a technical definition of apostasy. While some believed this ruling would allow Pastor Yousef to escape death Jubilee Campaign urged caution. We feared that Iran would require Pastor Yousef to deny his faith in Christ.

Yesterday the Iranian government held a final hearing calling on Pastor Yousef to deny his Christian faith. This committed pastor refused to deny his Savior and by some interpretations of Iranian law Pastor Yousef could be executed at any time. Despite massive grassroots activism and high-level advocacy here in the States, Pastor Yousef may be dead before significant diplomatic pressure can be brought to bear.

4) Pray for workers for the Harvest ...Teen Challenge Centers in 90 countries need staff and resources. We currently have invitations to start Teen Challenge in more than 32 countries. Nations are crying out for help. They need the power of God to meet a pressing social need ... but we know it has a SPIRITUAL ROOT and we offer real SPIRITUAL RESOURCES to meet that need.
MATTHEW 9: 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.
